TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, but today it spans a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science and business to education, arts and global issues. In addition to the hundreds of TED Talks curated from our annual conferences and published on TED.com, we produce original podcasts, short video series, animated educational lessons (TED-Ed) and TV programs that are translated into more than 100 languages and distributed via partnerships around the world. Each year, more than 3,000 independently run TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities on every continent. Through the Audacious Project, TED has helped catalyze more than $3 billion in funding for projects that seek to make the world more beautiful, sustainable and just. At the heart of Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, TEDx IOE Pulchowk emerges as a local beacon for the global TEDx movement. TEDx IOE Pulchowk sets itself apart as a fully planned and independently coordinated community-by- community initiative. Rooted in the ethos of TEDx, the organizers of TEDx IOE Pulchowk are driven by a shared belief in the potential of ideas to instigate positive change. TEDx IOE Pulchowk has acquired the Community License Tier.

At our TEDx IOE Pulchowk event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

We embody the principles of open-source, local, and community-driven events. Through its endeavors, it seeks to inspire innovation, foster thought leadership, and provide a platform for visionary insights within the local community.

TEDx IOE Pulchowk recognizes that profound ideas can emerge from any corner of the world, keeping in sync with the broader TEDx movement. By bringing TEDx to Kathmandu Valley, it contributes to the global tapestry of ideas while nurturing a local environment that values innovation, diversity of thought, and positive change. We serve as a bridge, connecting the local community to the global TEDx network. In doing so, it creates a space where the ideas born in Pulchowk have the potential to resonate globally, reinforcing the interconnected nature of transformative thought.
